Most of my Lac maternum cases were born in a manner of speaking after I had
treated a number of patients with Carcinosinum or Carcinosinum cum Cuprum and
Saccharum officinale. Then, when one or two of the layers have been resolved,
the Lac maternum layer presents itself clearly most of time. But sometimes a
beautiful Lac maternum case is seen at the first consultation. I will begin
my description of the supplementary cases with two of these.
Case 1: Manon is seven years old when I first see
her, at the beginning of September 1996. Her mother complains that she is slow
and that her concentration is poor. She is a sleepy child who sometimes stares;
things do not penetrate and she often does not respond when spoken to. She is
always behind. When her mother tries to bring her to reality she often has nightmares.
The pregnancy was uncomplicated, but her mother had to stop working at seven
months because she stopped growing. Then when she was 14 days overdue the waters
broke and parturition was provoked with Piton-S (oxytocin). The first three
months she was to weak to suck the breast and was also given bottle-feeding.
She slept almost all the time and had to be woken up before every feed. She
never cried and was an easy child. She teethed late and she walked only at 22
months. She was clean at two-and-a-half. Nowadays she still sucks like a baby
when playing with her dolls. She is dreamy and absent-minded. She is very nice
to other people. She is not at all assertive, especially at school. She has
no fears at all and needs stimulating to be alert.
Prescription:Lac-m 200K every two weeks.
Results:From the first dose she improves.
In January 1977 her day-dreaming and staring fits have disappeared. The slowness
is less marked, she is ready on time, she is more alert intellectually and her
concentration at school is much improved. She is still too unassertive, says
her mother. The treatment is continued with Lac-m MK every three weeks.
Case 2: This 39-year-old single and unemployed man is another
case of lack of incarnation and weak boundaries. I first saw him in April 1996.
He lives in a community with eight other persons, in an old school. He has difficulty
setting his boundaries and making choices. He feels tired easily in company
and is hypersensitive to disturbing elements in his surroundings such as strip
lightning, TV etc. He has a strong desire to be out in the nature, he then feels
that he has both feet on the ground. He can only concentrate for short periods.
He was given breast-feeding for just a fortnight, his mother’s milk was not
rich enough. His parents had a bad relationship and often threatened to leave
home and put their coats on. This created a very dependent relationship with
his mother, who was not at all affectionate and later wrecked all his relationships
in a subtle way because of her jealousy. He is a thinker, not a doer. His life
in a community can be seen as an expression of his lack of boundaries, he is
losing himself in such a place and now feels the need to have his own house
where he can retire if he wants.
Prescription: Lac-m 30K once a week
Results: two months later the incarnation process has clearly
started. He has much more pleasure in life. He sets his own boundaries more
clearly in relationships. His weight is increasing spontaneously, his body feels
better, stronger, with both feet on the ground. The stitching pain and exploding
feeling in his head are gone. Another half-year later he has been through the
200 and MK and has moved home. He feels clearly that he is descending into
his body, he really feels his feet on the ground. The tension in his eyes has
gone and he has much more energy. He now has a job as a nature guide.
I will continue with Lac maternum cases that were coming to the surface after
resolution of another layer. Invariably this new layer is revealed by specific
symptoms indicating this lack of incarnation.
Case 3:This 48-year-old man was treated for two years for
lack of self-confidence with Carcinosinum cum Cuprum 30K and 200K before he
was given his first Lac maternum. He was very concerned that his life was not
under control and he was very fastidious. The CCC stopped him from losing self-confidence
when he made mistakes, lowered his stress and irritation, enabled him to sleep
relaxed and to accept that life is uncontrollable. Then he started complaining
that things were not really affecting him, that life was passing him by, experiencing
a kind of absence, as if he were not sufficiently awake. He felt unassertive
and too closed in himself.
Prescription:Lac-m 30K once a week
Results:two months later: “I don’t feel the
need to defend myself so much, but I say more clearly what I think. I am much
more aware of the world around me and that I have come out of my own private
world. The noises in my ears have almost completely disappeared. I satisfy my
own needs much more and refuse to allow things to overwhelm me. I am able to
say: ‘I don’t want that happen to me’. I feel tired in the evening and sleep
soundly.
Case 4: This 47-year-old lady complains of languor,
as if she can no longer feel her body, as if she has no legs or arms, a kind
of absence and that people seem not to see her, which gives her a feeling of
loneliness; she also takes over the feelings of other people; she feels discouraged,
as if it is useless to do anything with her life, useless to fight. She has
the feeling that her mind is separated from her body. As a child already she
rose up out of her body and looked down at herself playing from the ceiling.
She feels chilly and has cramps.
Prescription:Lac-m 30K every week
Results: after two years of treatment with Lac-m 30K, 200K, LM6.
“I feel fantastic. I take the LM6 only once a week. The cramps are gone, I feel
refreshed in the morning and sleep soundly. I am increasingly able not to absorb
the feelings of other people. I have the feeling of being really among people
and not at a safe distance. I can make contact more easily. I have become myself
again and my sense of humour has returned. I am able to face problems. I am
no longer absent, I am there and I can easily open up to impressions without
becoming disturbed. I feel relaxed and my chilliness is gone. My mind is again
united with my body and people see me again. I feel relaxed.”
Case 5: This 47-year-old lady came into her Lac maternum
state after a one-and-a-half year treatment with Carcinosinum and CCC. She complains
now of feeling responsible for everybody and of an over sensitivity to remarks
by other people. She avoids every conflict. She is oversensitive to other people’s
energy; she cannot make people understand that she has heard enough of their
misery. She says: 'I cannot stop this when I feel overwhelmed by it.' She has
an enormous need for affection and tenderness, but not for sex and this makes
her feel guilty.
Prescription:Lac-m 30K every two weeks
Results: after one year of treatment with 30K and LM6. With the
30K (2 months) she feels very negative, sees only things at home that are not
good and she feels a tremendous need to tidy her house. In the evening she feels
tired, but in the morning refreshed and is no longer stiff. She feels alternately
resigned and irritable. She still is very influenced by others. Then I change
to the LM6 every two days or more to smooth the change. Then she slowly improves.
No anxiety for what is coming, more able to release things and keep her distance,
things affect her less without making her distant. She takes care of herself.
No feeling of guilt any more, she is able to read in the morning before finishing
her work. Able to say ‘no’. No alternating moods and the irritability before
the menses is gone. More energy in the evening. Concentration much better and
she can read again. She arranged a room for herself at home to which she can
retire when she needs rest.
Case 6: This 36-year-old lady comes into her Lac maternum state
after eight months of treatment with CCC 30K. She complains of restlessness,
tiredness and a feeling of having lost herself. She feels vulnerable and powerless.
She has the feeling of not being seen, that she is not there, that she has to
shout to be heard. She cannot settle and come to herself. She cannot accept
this state and has the feeling that she has to go still deeper.
Prescription:Lac-m 30K every week.
Results:after two months. “I am very angry
that people don’t see me, that they walk over me and don’t listen to me. I always
was apathetic and inert, I thought it was me, but now I am alert and sharp and
that gives me energy. I feel more at ease among people. I always felt insecure,
as if everybody could take me over, I didn’t have borders, or protection, so
I was afraid when away from my family. This remedy gives me borders, it covers
me. I felt like a bus full of mud. In the past I was an easy target for teasing,
so my feelings were injured. I am afraid of losing my ability to feel what others
feel and perceive the ambience in company. (Continuation of this case under

Case 7: Vincent, an African boy, was adopted at seven
months; his mother probably died as a consequence of Aids. At two years he
was successfully treated with Saccharum officinale. He completely recovered
two years of retarded development, he is much more capable of standing up for
himself, he expresses his emotions and communicates what is wrong to his (adoptive)
mother, he has opened up to other people and feels freer. While undergoing the
treatment his development drops back noticeably when his remedy is taken late.
It is as if he becomes autistic, he talks with difficulty and has an absent
look. He refuses to swallow his food. But now he stumbles frequently, his gait
is almost spasmodic. He is not aware of his own limitations and physical capabilities.
He is very awkward. He never shows signs of hunger. Sometimes he seems to be
afraid of his mother. The Saccharum no longer seems to help him.
Prescription:Lac-m 200K every two weeks.
Results:after one year (five years old).
The mother is delighted about the changes of her son. He can express his emotions
better, can be happy or sad and when his mother grumbles at him he is not completely
lost. He reacts more appropriately to his surroundings and is less timid, more
social. He now plays with other children. He can verbalise his emotions. He
shows that he is hungry for the first time in his life. The nocturnal perspiration
has disappeared, as has the profuse salivation. He seems to be stable on his
feet and his awkwardness is much reduced. He talks a lot and sings the whole
day. He seems to enjoy life and the autistic tendency is completely gone. Every
morning he starts his day happily and with tremendous energy.
Case 8: We started a year-long treatment of this 41-year-old
lady in the spring of 1994 with Saccharum officinale. She was able to work out
the relationship with her mother and to experience a more deep-going contact
with people. “I am more in touch with reality again”, see says. She has more
energy and she again undertakes a variety of things. Her fits of excessive eating
are gone. She is now able to release her daughter, and this has completely changed
their relationship. Then she complains that she becomes too much involved with
other people and loses herself. She feels that she needs to protect herself
and keep a safe distance. She also complains of pain in her throat that extends
to the ears and that is relieved by cold drinks, which are Lac caninum symptoms.
Prescription: Lac-m 30K in water every hour.
Results: her sore throat is completely cured within days and
then she continues the Lac-m 30K every week, which cures her stress-related
urine incontinence and the heartburn, especially during the night, disappears
gradually. Big changes occur on the emotional/mental level. “I am able to look
inside myself”, she says, “I am more at one with myself. Without the Lac-m I
am again focussed on other people and I start to grumble again. I feel free
and I have the feeling that everything comes out of my deeper self, with force
and purity. I am able to adopt a vulnerable attitude, to stay with myself, to
be in my belly instead of in my throat and to have real feelings. I can let
other people come close to me without feeling threatened and consequently I
can feel what they feel. I feel the equal of other people, also of my children
and this leads to meaningful conversations. I feel united and complete. The
empty feeling inside is gone. I can stay home alone now and enjoy the tranquillity.
On waking in the morning I feel refreshed and I feel that I can cope with the
world. I no longer feel the need to judge people. My affinity with my body has
been strengthened, I feel that my throat is allied to anxiety, my stomach to
sorrow and my lower abdomen to desire. I feel that I am a real human being.
Case 9: Walter is a three-year-old boy with regressive
tendencies. He likes to be a little baby. He constantly plays at being in his
mother’s womb and being born or at being a little bird coming out of the egg.
He makes very close contact with his mother and makes himself small with his
head pressed between mother’s breasts. He is extremely loving towards his mother.
If the mother is not there he plays this kind of game with his little sister
or with his girl-friend. He has a fear of being abandoned by his mother. He
has abdominal pain at dinner-time, he loves meat and sweets and abhors cooked
vegetables, he eats everything raw. In the morning he is full of beans, in the
evening he is tired. After his siesta he is very moody. He can wake in the middle
of the night completely in panic, screaming for his mother. Saccharum officinale
MK gave some relief in his feeling of being forsaken, but this remedy proves
to be too superficial.
Prescription:Lac-m 200K every two weeks.
Results: Big changes. During the first aggravation he assumes
the position of a foetus and weeps pitifully. Then he stops playing at being
born. He no longer weeps when his mother leaves him at the kindergarten; previously
he wept on each occasion for a whole year. He now dresses himself and goes to
the lavatory alone. He wants to be called Walter instead of ‘little Walter’.
The contact with his mother is much more relaxed and he is making real contact
with other children. He acts his age and no longer like a baby. He gave the
high-chair to his younger sister and now gets up by himself. A new child is
born!
Case 10:Rieneke is a ten-year-old girl that was treated for
about 2 years for fear of abandonment. Then she starts hearing voices and seeing
strange creatures. She has a lot of strange feelings and doesn’t feel her own
body any more. Her anxiety about leaving her mother when she has to go to school
is enormous. She abhors school and is not functioning well there. Easy to manipulate,
she does what others tell her.
Prescription:Lac-m 200K every two weeks.
Results:She becomes more amiable and gentle
and expresses her emotions more. With Lac-m the out-of-body sensation disappears
completely, but this sensation is the first sign that she has to take the remedy
again. The voices and the strange creatures have disappeared. Her relationship
with her mother has considerably improved and she enjoys going to school now;
her fear is gone.
